Special 40th Anniversary Party Planned!
RGV Ballet's 40th Anniversary Celebration will be held on Nov. 15, 2012 at the McAllen Country Club from 6:00-9:00 pm. The celebration will feature a festive dinner, remembrances of Rio Grande Valley Ballet's early years and dance presentations by New York's Yloy Ybarra and San Antonio's Rosemary Tatum's dance troupe. Yloy was an early student of RGVB founder Doria Avila, and Ms. Tatum is the late Avila's neice.
As a special attraction, attendees will be treated to special performances by the RGV Ballet of some of the company's most treasured stage routines, including the audience favorite, "Lone Star Rag."

August
August 28, Mandatory parent meeting for The Nutcracker at 7:30 pm.
August 31, Contracts for The Nutcracker due. No exceptions.
September
Sept. 4, Cast letters for The Nutcracker go out.
Sept 15-16, Photo sessions for Ballet levels I-II, including Winter Recital
Sept 22, Photo sessions for Ballet levels III+, large groups and Winter Recital
Sept. 29, The Nutcracker weekend rehearsals begin. Check your schedule.
December
Dec. 5, 2012 The Nutcracker dress rehearsal cast 1, 4:30-6:30 pm; cast 2, 6:30-8:30 pm at the McAllen Civic Center Auditorium.
Dec. 6-7, The Nutcracker student matinee performances at 9:00 am and 11:30 am at the McAllen Civic Center Auditorium.
Dec. 8, The Nutcracker public performance at 7:00 pm at the McAllen Civic Center Auditorium.
Dec. 9, The Nutcracker public performance at 2:00 pm at the McAllen Civic Center Auditorium.
Turn in costumes. Cast party at 5:30-8:00 pm
